Well, 2016 has literally flown. I can almost hear Christmas carols being played. Just when my 4 years in campus felt like 10 years in a few weeks’ time, I’ll be doing my final exams. Soon I’ll be celebrating my 2nd blogiversary, so excited. Coming this far with my blog means a lot. It is actually through God that I have been able to make it this far. God has seen me through the rough and tough times. When I didn’t know what to do, he showed me the way.
I’m also thankful to you, my viewers, it is because of you that this space is still alive. There were months when I barely posted anything or didn’t post at all but you kept on stopping by and even commenting on my past posts. You may not know it but you encourage me in so many ways. For that, I’m really grateful.
Being 23 has been one hell of a drive, it toughened me up and made find confidence in doing certain things. It has also taught me to be open-minded and assertive. A few mistakes along the way and I’m ready for a new age.
However, 2016 has been good to me too. It is this year that I discovered that I’m skilled in braiding and plaiting hair. It all started when I got disappointed and decided to start doing my hair by myself. The next thing I know, I’m braiding my friends and making money out of it. 2016 brought out a lot of creativity to me, I hand stitched a pouch- here and did some other DIY projects that I never thought I could do. Ever since I realized I could stitch all I have wanted to do is design and now I’m hoarding kitenge pieces.
All in all 2016 has pushed me towards realizing my true potential and I’m thankful to everyone who took part in helping me discover my hidden talents. What has been your biggest discovery of yourself in 2016?
