For sometime I was under the belief that palazzo pants were only meant for curvacious women. I never used to like this type of pants, I feared them, I had this thought that if I wore them I would look overdressed or tacky. What I didn’t know is that palazzo pants are made in different sizes and that I can get my size( slim fit for that matter).
I drew inspiration from Scandal the series. Olivia Pope played by Kerry Washington main wear in the show is palazzo pants. She always looks good in them and is undoubtedly a style goddess. I finally got the courage to wear one and currently I’m obsessing over palazzo pants. Especially cause they are simple, feminine and comfortable.
Palazzo pants can also be part of an official wear depending with how wide the legs are and the feel of the material. I decided to reduce the width at the bottom a little bit without distorting the actual design of the pants.
So last week I got to attend one of the most important events. Investor briefing, not as a guest, it was work related, an executive breakfast meeting. Of all my outfits, official black palazzo pants seemed more appropriate for this event. Actually I was more focussed on wearing black. Some of you had a sneak peek of my OOTD on snapchat – graciemjodawo and bits of the event. It was such an honour to be in the same room with the MD, Directors, and business prospects.
I wore black palazzo pants, with a white blouse and black coat. It was more of a suit look with a hint of purple.
“Palazzo pants flare out evenly from the waist to the ankle, and are therefore different from bellbottoms, which are snug until they flare out from the knee. Palazzo pants are also not to be confused with Gaucho trousers, which only extend down to mid-calf length. Harem pants are yet another loose style, but they have a snug cuff around the ankles”.
