Last Saturday I attended the Nairobi Elegance Affair that went down at Nairobi Railway Museum. Forgetting about how they kept us waiting for the fashion show, everything else was awesome. Nairobi elegance affair was about a fashion show where by 30 designers were showcasing their new designs, fashion houses were also exhibiting their own creations for people to buy.
The whole event was well organized, I loved the location, it portrayed art and African culture. I was so surprised that the trains and railway lines have been properly maintained all these years. The place is beautiful, the trains look extremely new and super clean. Not forgetting the great music and good food service.
However, my phone and camera disappointed me, they both ran out of charge as I took photos and videos. Now I know why it is important to have a powerbank and an extra battery for a camera. Couldn’t stay till late to watch all the designers display their work but I managed to watch 10 designers whom I so much loved their creative and inspiring ensemble. I took lots of videos of models walking back n forth on the runway but I’m not sure if it’s legally accepted for me to share the content here.
This was my first midday fashion show, picking what to wear wasn’t simple. I hope I wasn’t out of place. I wore a crochet mint mini dress with studded sandal heels. Did less accessories since the dress was already making it’s own statement. Carried a baige sling bag that I sometimes use as a clutch bag and added a silver ring to the look.
I found the trains so much fascinating that I just had to take some shots while inside one of them. These machines are so old like 1908 but have a delightful ambiance, I felt like living in them. Let’s just say that I’ve never been traveled by and I crazily fell in love with trains the moment I stepped in Nairobi Railway Museum.
Nairobi elegance affair was such a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to attend more events like this.
