This type of print with stripes running both horizontally and vertically forming squares and rectangles of multiple colors on an attire, bag or shoes, is called Plaid or Checked.Wow guessing I just caught your attention by the whole math description.
A fascinating print especially because people have different names for it.Some call it pilot shirt(Which is different),people get it confused when a plaid shirt has a style of folding and button at the arm, making them call a checked shirt “pilot”.The most interesting name is
Dafari(not sure about the spelling),I used to hear my sisters say it a lot when I was young never quite knew where the name came from. There’s even a song for Dafari, can’t remember the lines and I really wish my elder sister could come to my aid with this one,coz it Google doesn’t recognize such a word. What’s Dafari? It’s also the design for Maasai Shukas.Or could it be that Dafari is a Maasai term?
A stylish print that can be designed on anything giving a nice feeling and fine look.It could be a plaid shoe, skirt, trouser, scarf or bag,you name it.It doesn’t not have age or gender limitation everyone loves it.Everyone owns at least one think that is checked, if it’s a shirt even better coz once a while I’ll be posting on how and when to wear such a print.Don’t worry there will also be tips on how to wear it with other prints or with bright colors. You can have a look at the previous post of plaid shirt on a bandage skirt, here.
For today I am wearing a plaid shirt with a round pleated mini skirt, baby pink in color with Brown ankle-strap boots and a brown Fedora. This kinda print has too much goin on hence doesn’t require too much jewellery it’s sorted.Plaid shirt fits well with all types of skirts, yes even Maxi skirts.Round sunglasses add oomph to the whole outfit also gives a Furahi-day feeling~>that wonderful feeling of starting off the weekend.
